|Reidy named vice provost for land and buildings
Robert Reidy, former director of capital planning and management, and former construction manager for the Stanford Management Company, has been named vice provost for land and buildings, effective immediately.
“Bob brings a high level of professional expertise to his work. His experience in construction management has been a real asset. We will all benefit from his knowledge and enthusiasm,” said Provost John Etchemendy.
In this new position, Reidy reports to Etchemendy. His responsibilities will be broadened to include oversight of planning and management of Stanford’s lands and facilities. The three campus offices that report to the vice provost are Capital Planning and Management; Facilities Operations and the Planning Office.
According to William
Phillips, managing director, real estate at the Management Company,
Reidy’s primary responsibilities there included $200 million
worth of construction on Sand Hill Road. These projects included
the Stanford Shopping Center, the Stanford West housing complex,
and reconstruction of the road itself. Phillips said that in the
current construction market it is extremely difficult to complete
projects on schedule and on budget. “Bob has got Sand Hill
Road projects running a year ahead of time in terms of completion.
He’s definitely going to be missed at the Management
Company,” Phillips said.
