SIEPR's Smith authors book on history of Mexico-U.S. relations

Clint E. Smith, a senior research associate at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, is the author of a new book that describes the complex Mexico-U.S. relationship from the beginning of the 19th century through the end of the 20th. Inevitable Partnership: Understanding Mexico-U.S. Relations was just published by Lynne Rienner Publishers, Boulder, Colo. Smith, a retired U.S. diplomat, served on the Mexico desk in the U.S. State Department and in the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City as well as at a number of other Latin American and European posts.
