Multicultural Springfest to feature barbeque, staff performers

Don't forget to head over to the Ford Center Plaza for lunch tomorrow to enjoy this year's Multicultural Springfest. Sponsored by the Office for Multicultural Development, Human Resources Services and staff groups, the annual employee-appreciation event offers complimentary food, T-shirts, a raffle, entertainment and art by staff from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Provost John Hennessy will speak at 11:45 a.m.

Barbecued food will be on the menu this year. "This is the first year we are going to have a picnic lunch with grilled meat and veggie burgers," says Barbara Arnoldussen, publicity chair of this year's springfest. "We will have more serving stations, so that you will be served quicker."

Musical performers will include Kevin Carr from the Help Center, R. T. Carr from Green Library and the Urbano sisters --Patty, Marisol and Crystal. Arts and crafts by staff members also will be on display. Parking is difficult, say organizers, so fest-goers should use the Marguerite, which stops across the street at Encina Hall, if they cannot walk or bike.
