The Faculty Senate will meet Thursday to hear reports on the undergraduate major and the student judicial system and to review a proposal for a new interdisciplinary honors program in International Security Studies.
The report on the major proposes specific guidelines for majors and a process for reviewing them. It says the university needs to take greater responsibility for establishing and maintaining high standards across undergraduate degree-granting programs, and that all such programs should receive a comprehensive review every six to eight years.
The judicial report reviews the
status of the 1997 Student Judicial Charter. The proposed honors
program in International Security Studies would be an interschool
program between the School of Engineering and the School of
Humanities and Sciences. SR
