Administrative Job Fair to showcase 550 openings

At the June 28 Administrative Job Fair, the university's Office of Staff Employment hopes to fill many of its 550 vacancies.

"That's a lot of openings -- 184 more than usual," says Thomas C. Castillo, the employment specialist coordinating the quarterly event. This one is set for 4 to 7 p.m. in the Oak Lounge of Tresidder Union.

Openings are available for administrative assistants, accounting assistants, medical assistants, social science research assistants, food service workers and more. They include part-time, full-time temporary and regular positions.

Castillo attributes Stanford's job surplus to a high employment rate throughout Santa Clara County.

Employment manager Linda Jack said that based on hiring activity of prior years, June is a peak hiring month and she'd like to see widespread participation from university hiring managers. Departments can reserve tables by calling Castillo at 723-0918.
