Bernardt to give 'What Matters' talk

Elizabeth Bernhardt, director of the Stanford Language Center and professor of German studies, will speak at noon today in the side chapel of Memorial Church as part of the "What Matters to Me and Why" series. The talks are designed to encourage reflection on matters of personal values, beliefs and motivations.

The series continues on selected Wednesdays. All talks are held from noon to 1 p.m. in the side chapel of Memorial Church. The Winter Quarter schedule follows:

Feb. 9: Kelly Denton-Borhaug, interim dean of religious life.

Feb. 23: Robert Kinnally, dean of undergraduate admission and financial aid.

March 1: Harry Elam, director of the Introduction to Humanities Program and associate professor of drama. SR
