NIH funding subject of January talk

Dr. Wendy Baldwin, deputy director of extramural programs for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will discuss funding outlooks and research initiatives from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in Fairchild Auditorium. Her presentation will address NIH funding opportunities; biomedical engineering; peer review changes; protection of human subjects; and conflict of interest.

Baldwin has chaired the Bioengineering Consortium within the Office of the Director and is involved with issues affecting the peer review process and the funding of Principal Investigators. Her talk is sponsored by the Office of Research Administration and the Office of the Dean of Research and Graduate Policy.
