|Walsh to leave News Service
Eileen Walsh, director of Stanford News Service, will leave the university at the end of the year to become vice president for strategic communications at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health.
"Eileen has brought continuity and excellence to the News Service operation -- and to Stanford -- over the last 17 years," said Alan Acosta, director of university communications. "She will be sorely missed, but her contributions will live on in countless ways. All of us who know her wish her every success in her new adventure."
Walsh, who has been news
director since 1999, joined the News Service in 1984 as a
writer/editor. She was editor of what was then called Campus
Report and the Stanford Observer and was the associate
director and acting director of the News Service.
