Program in Ethics in Society accepting applications for new courses

Areas of study might include, for example, ethical issues in research, including human subjects research; ethical dimensions of biotechnology; and freedom and the arts. Up to $5,000 per course will be offered for course development, research assistance and technological support. A workshop will be offered to assist faculty in formulating the ethical dimension of their course. Submit a course description of no more than five pages, including course goals, targeted student population, a list of sample readings and a budget to Nicole Sanchez, associate director, Program in Ethics and Society, Building 90, Room 92G, mail code 2155, e-mail nsanchez@stanford.edu. Applications must be received by Jan. 20, 2001.
