Cholesterol study needs postmenopausal women
DURING THE POSTMENOPAUSAL years, many women experience a rise in blood cholesterol levels and an increased risk for heart disease. Researchers in Stanford's General Clinical Research Center are exploring the effects of dietary cholesterol on risk factors for heart disease in postmenopausal women.
Volunteers will undergo screening for risk factors, followed by an intervention study. The study is directed by Dr. Gerald M. Reaven, emeritus professor of medicine, and his associates.
