FACS facility to hold open house

The Stanford shared Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) Facility in the Beckman Center will hold an open house Friday, April 25, from 1 to 6 p.m. to celebrate changes happening this spring at the facility.

"These changes include the introduction of two new three-laser cell sorters for routine use, the retirement of our venerable 'Flasher' instrument, the release of our new FlowJo data analysis software, the initiation of our Web site, welcoming our new operator Paul Fallon and the introduction of a new, lower charge rate structure," said David Parks, senior research associate in the Department of Genetics.

The event will be held in Rooms B016, B015 and B019 of the Beckman Center. There will be varied refreshments, demonstrations and a contest or two for participants, said Parks.
