Description
Professor Rakove is an expert on American history and elections. His principal areas of research include the origins of the American Revolution and Constitution, the political practice and theory of James Madison, and the role of historical knowledge in constitutional litigation. He teaches courses about American history, especially colonial and revolutionary America; the U.S. Constitution; creation of the American republic; and constitutional interpretation in history and theory.
