Assistant Professor of Earth System Science

(650) 736-2083

Alexandra Konings is a ecohydrologist; she studies how ecosystems and the carbon cycle respond to variations in water availability at large scales, and how ecosystems will change under future climate. Research questions in her lab surround the role of vegetation water content in predicting plant health and its associated fluxes and growth, with a principal focus on plant hydraulics, water-carbon coupling in the tropics, and the role of spatial variability in plant traits.

She holds courtesy appointments in the Department of Geophysics and the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.
