’Tis the season at Stanford!

Before students, faculty and staff head home for the holidays, many take the time to celebrate on campus. Among the festivities this year was a performance of The Nutcracker in Dinkelspiel Auditorium by the student-run Cardinal Ballet Company. Another holiday tradition is the annual Messiah sing-along. The “sing and play it yourself” celebration of Handel’s masterwork is a long-standing campus tradition, conducted by music Professor Stephen Sano; special guest Provost Persis Drell played cello with the strings section. The student a cappella group Talisman performed holiday selections from around the world. Residential & Dining Enterprises created their annual holiday masterpiece with a Stanford-themed, life-sized gingerbread house. And the new Redwood City campus held their first gingerbread house decorating and holiday attire competitions.
