Stanford students package 63,000 meals for the hungry during New Student Orientation

Freshmen and transfer students received an introduction to public service as a distinctive feature of a Stanford education through an event cosponsored with international relief organization Stop Hunger Now. Nearly 500 students packaged a record 63,000 meals in just three hours. Sponsored by the Haas Center for Public Service, Residential & Dining Enterprises and Residential Education, the event was part of New Student Orientation.
