Political scientist North to be honored for international studies

Robert C. North, professor emeritus of political science, will be awarded the Prix Mondial Nessim Habif by the Université de Genevé in Switzerland on June 13. North was also asked by the university to present a paper, "The Global Challenge of Globalization ­ Lateral Pressure vs. Environment," based on his current work. The prize for contributions to international studies is given every four years by the university's Graduate Institute of International Studies. North, who received his doctorate from Stanford, was a professor of political science from 1958 until his retirement in 1984.
