Drell, Zare appointed California Science and Technology Fellows
California Gov. Pete Wilson has appointed Sidney D. Drell, professor and deputy director of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Richard N. Zare, the Marguerite Blake Wilbur Professor of Chemistry, as California Science and Technology Fellows. According to the governor's office, "CCST Fellows represent a highly distinguished group of the Golden State's most talented scientists, engineers, technical experts and educators." This year 53 individuals were selected to receive this distinction. The state established the California Council on Science and Technology in 1988 to provide the state with timely policy advice regarding science and technology developments.
