Former California Gov. Jerry Brown to speak at Stanford May 9

STANFORD -- Democratic presidential hopeful Jerry Brown is scheduled to make a 15-minute campaign speech at Stanford University, beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, in White Plaza.

While he at Stanford, the former California governor will visit the environmental "Energy Futures Fair," a showcase of energy-efficient technology, sponsored by the Sierra Club, Stanford University and SunPower Corp..

Afterward, he will travel to the Ravenswood New School in East Palo Alto, where he will give a speech at 2 p.m. on jobs, justice, housing and rebuilding in the wake of the Rodney King verdict.

Brown is the first 1992 presidential candidate to schedule a visit to Stanford. The California state primary is on June 2.
