Hoover fellow to consult for Sandia Laboratories

STANFORD -- Richard F. Staar, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, has been appointed a consultant to Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.

Staar said he will work with a panel examining world developments that might have a significant impact on U.S. national interests.

Staar is a former U.S. ambassador to the conventional arms reduction talks in Vienna, Austria. He has served as a consultant to the office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency.

His most recent book, East Central Europe and the USSR, was published by St. Martin's Press in New York and Macmillan in London.
