Israelis, Palestinians to discuss building a common future

STANFORD -- The closing session of "Building a Common Future," a conference aimed at furthering the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Kresge Auditorium, Stanford Law School.

The event, open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation and the Beyond War Foundation. A $5 donation will be requested at the door.

At the conference, which, except for the closing session, is not open to the public, a group of prominent Israelis and Palestinians will discuss courses of action that might lead to a sustainable, cooperative future. In the closing session, participants will reflect on the conference program.

The facilitator for the conference and moderator for the closing session will be Harold Saunders, a key negotiator in the Camp David accords.
