Public memorial service for Bill Walsh, Hall of Fame football coach, set for Friday, Aug. 10, at Monster Park

A public memorial service for Bill Walsh will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2007, at Monster Park in San Francisco, Calif.

The service will take place on the field where Walsh led the 49ers to three Super Bowl titles during his 10 years as head coach. The program will include a special video presentation tribute prepared by NFL Films, along with former players and coaches sharing their thoughts about their friend.

Parking will be free.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the charity of choice in Walsh's name.
