Veteran war correspondent and Jarhead author to discuss effects of combat

What are immediate and long-term effects of experiencing combat firsthand?

"The Truth of War," an Aurora Forum panel scheduled from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Kresge Auditorium, will examine this question. The panelists will be Chris Hedges, a former reporter for the New York Times and veteran war correspondent, and Anthony Swofford, author of Jarhead: A Marine's Chronicle of the Gulf War and Other Battles. Psychiatrist David Spiegel, the Jack, Lulu and Sam Willson Professor in the School of Medicine, will moderate.

The forum is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the web at http://auroraforum.org/.
