Stanford Law School names Sabrina Johnson associate dean for communications and public relations

Sabrina Johnson, a former communications executive at Amgen Inc., has been appointed associate dean for communications and public relations at Stanford Law School.

Johnson assumed her position in October. She oversees media and public relations, issues management, brand management, and print and web communications. She will lead the communications efforts in support of the Law School's programs, people and scholarship. Johnson reports directly to Dean Larry Kramer.

"What law schools do has changed enormously over the past decade, and with that, so have our communications needs," Kramer said. "This is especially true for Stanford Law School, which has an amazingly diverse intellectual program. Having someone with Sabrina's experience will enable us more effectively to communicate who we are and what makes this such a special place."

At Amgen, Johnson oversaw all global corporate and product public relations, including strategic media relations, financial communications, licensing and mergers and acquisitions communications, and issues management. Prior to her tenure at Amgen, she was director of corporate public relations at Genentech Inc. and served in a variety of communications roles at Levi Strauss & Co., including director of European communications at the company's Brussels office.

Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the College of Wooster in Ohio.
