Children’s Center of the Stanford Community plans fundraising auction Saturday

The Children’s Center of the Stanford Community, which provides day care services to the children of Stanford faculty, staff and students at its Pampas Lane facilities, will host a fundraising auction, “A Bridge to the Future,” at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Faculty Club.

Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner, wine and a live auction of gifts, including vacation lodging in such locations as the Virgin Islands and Maui, local getaway weekends, introductory flight lessons, memberships to local museums, children’s birthday packages, sports tickets and baby-sitting time. Award-winning auctioneer Rob Slawinski will preside over the festivities. Money raised through the auction will benefit the center’s capital campaign to create a community space and to fund future renovation.

The Children’s Center of the Stanford Community is a nonprofit cooperative for Stanford families started primarily by graduate students at Stanford in 1969. The center serves more than 140 Stanford families with children ranging from 8 weeks to 5 years old. The center is known for its strong sense of community, nurturing environment, creative curriculum and unique working relationship with parents.
