An open house to welcome the Rev. Scotty McLennan, the new dean for religious life, is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the Round Room of Memorial Church.

McLennan, 52, came to Stanford in January from Tufts University, where he served as chaplain beginning in 1984 and taught ethics courses at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the School of Dental Medicine and the Environmental Studies Program. He taught similar courses in ethics as a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School.

McLennan received a bachelor's degree from Yale in 1970. He earned Master of Divinity and law degrees from Harvard in 1975. He is the author of Finding Your Religion: When the Faith You Grew Up With Has Lost Its Meaning.

His installation is scheduled for March 12.
