Faculty Senate to discuss class scheduling today

At its first meeting of the academic year, the Faculty Senate will hear Tom Black, university registrar, present a proposal on new class meeting patterns.

The proposal can be found on the senate's recently redesigned website by clicking on the Oct. 10 meeting date under "2013-14 Upcoming Meetings."

David Palumbo-Liu, a professor of comparative literature who was elected chair of the senate last year, will preside over the meeting. Andrew Fire, a professor of pathology and of genetics, is serving as senate vice-chair this year.

The senate meeting will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Room 180 of the Law School.

Discussion is limited to members of the senate, but members of the Stanford community may request to attend the meeting by contacting the Academic Secretary's Office at (650) 723-4992 or Trish Del Pozzo at delpozzo@stanford.edu.
