Stanford Faculty Senate to hear report from athletics director
At the second meeting of the winter quarter on Thursday, Stanford's Faculty Senate will hear reports from Bernard Muir, director of athletics at Stanford, and from Tom Wasow, chair of the Committee on Committees.
First on the senate agenda is the report from Bernard Muir, who became director of athletics at Stanford last July.
The senate also will hear a report from Tom Wasow, chair of the Committee on Committees. Wasow, a professor of linguistics and of philosophy at Stanford, will present the committee's recommended revisions to the charge of the Committee on Review of Undergraduate Majors (C-RUM).
The Committee on Committees is recommending that changes be made to remove outdated language, clarify C-RUM's role in the review process of departmental majors and add the deans – or their representatives – of the schools of Humanities & Sciences, Engineering and Earth Sciences as ex officio members of the committee.
A copy of the proposed revisions can be found on the Faculty Senate's website.
The senate meeting will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Room 180 of the Law School. Discussion is limited to members of the senate, but members of the Stanford community may request to attend the meeting by contacting the Academic Secretary's Office at 723-4992 or Trish Del Pozzo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
