Music, art will take center stage at April 28 symposium

An evening of music and art is in store for those who attend the annual "Medicine and the Muse" symposium April 28 in the Clark Center auditorium. The event begins at 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A reception will follow at 7 p.m.

The featured presentation will be Rob Kapilow and the St. Lawrence String Quartet. Kapilow is a composer and NPR commentator on classical music, and the quartet is Stanford's ensemble-in-residence.

Following the performance, Stanford medical students will display samples of their art and music. The symposium is sponsored by the Biomedical Ethics and Medical Humanities Scholarly Concentration and the Arts, Humanities and Medicine Program, which are both part of the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics.
