JOHN P. WEYANT, professor (research) of management science and engineering and senior fellow, by courtesy, at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, has been named deputy director of the Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency at Stanford. Established in October 2006, the institute's mission is to improve opportunities for and implementation of energy-efficient and economically attractive technologies, systems and practices.
JAMES L. SWEENEY, professor of management science and engineering and director of the Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency, has received the 2007 Adelman-Frankel Award from the United States Association for Energy Economics. The award is given to an individual or organization for a unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics.
