Tuareg silversmiths bring Cantor Arts Center exhibit to life

Having traveled from Niger to Stanford, two Tuareg silversmiths are working from Wednesday, Aug. 28, through Saturday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m, at the Cantor Arts Center. As part of a landmark show on Tuareg culture, the two brothers, Salah Said and Ousman Saidi, who have practiced the craft since they were children, demonstrate how they create the exquisitely patterned bracelets, rings and other artifacts for which the Tuareg people are known.
