Stanford researchers have shown that male fish can size up potential rivals simply by watching them fight. The study, publsihed inNature, provides the first direct evidence that fish have the potential to reason logically. Former psychology postdoctoral fellow Tricia Clement, now at eBay Inc., and biological sciences Professor Russell Fernald describe their study.
