Tim Carmack has been named chief financial officer at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, as of Sept. 25. He has worked as a consultant for such clients as World Vision International, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and HCA Midwest. He also has served as CFO for Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles and Anaheim Memorial Medical Center.
Bruce Arnow, PhD, has been promoted to professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, as of Aug. 1. Among his current research interests are investigations of the efficacy of different therapies and combinations of treatment for chronic depression.
Among the top 10 winners in the awards competition for the Young Investigators Forum of the Western States Affiliate of the American Heart Association are radiology post-docs Feng Cao, MD, PhD, and Zongjin Li, MD, PhD; pediatrics post-doc Nesrine El-Bizri, PhD, and cardiology fellow Hyung Chun, MD. The winners will present their research Sept. 29 in San Francisco. John Cooke, MD, PhD, professor of cardiovascular medicine, will chair the event, which Stanford has co-sponsored.
