Continuing education ready to start fall classes

Time is running out to register for Stanford Continuing Studies, with classes set to begin Sept. 25.

Among this fall's offering of more than 100 courses are such medically oriented ones as "Anthropology of health, illness and healing;" "Neuroscience and psychoanalysis: Is Freud's grand theory dead or alive?;" "The brain: A user's manual;" "Exploring the nanoscale world;" "Telling friend from foe: The biology of the immune system;" "Stem cells;" "Anxieties of early childhood," and "Obsessions and impulsive behavior—diagnosis and treatments."

Medical center employees receive a 20 percent discount on all classes. Medical school employees may use Staff Training Assistance Program funds to cover the entire cost of a course.
