Sharon Hunt, MD, professor of medicine (cardiovascular medicine), has been selected to receive the 2006 Laennec Master Clinician Award from the Council on Clinical Cardiology. The award, which recognizes her contributions and achievements in the field of clinical cardiology, is to be presented in Chicago in November at the American Heart Association's annual scientific conference.
Dominik Fleischmann, MD, has been promoted to associate professor of radiology, as of Aug. 1. His clinical expertise is in thoracic and non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, such as CT angiography and coronary CT. Fleischmann's interdisciplinary research group focuses on the development and evaluation of new knowledge-based techniques for the visualization of lower extremity arterial occlusive disease. He and several colleagues recently received the Hounsefield Award from the Society of Computed Body Tomography and Magnetic Resonance.
Chandra Ramamoorthy, MD, has been promoted to professor of anesthesia, as of Aug. 1. She is also director of pediatric cardiac anesthesia at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.
Jason Lee, MD, has been promoted to assistant professor of surgery at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, as of July 1. He serves as section chief of vascular surgery at the VA, and director of the endovascular mini-fellowship program.
Sanjeev Dutta, MD, has been named assistant professor of surgery and of pediatrics, as of June 1. Much of his research interests focus on surgery, including laparosendoscopic and robotic surgery; surgical innovation and emerging technologies, and surgical education and simulation-based training. He is director of the Stanford surgical skills curriculum and associate director of the Goodman Center for Simulation in Medicine.
