Board of Trustees elects Isaac Stein for five-year term

Isaac Stein was elected to the Board of Trustees for a five-year term during meetings held over the past two days. Stein previously served 10 years on the board, four as chair, until June 2004, when he stepped down as his second term expired.

Stein is the president of Waverley Associates Inc. and a managing director of Technogen Associates LP, both private investment firms. He also serves as chairman of Maxygen Inc., and he is a director of Alexza Pharmaceuticals, the American Balanced Fund Inc. and the Income Fund of America Inc.

Stein earned a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics from Colgate University in 1968 and a joint MBA/law degree from Stanford in 1972.
