And let the Nobel festivities begin

Pam Lowney

While sitting in a medical school conference room on Nov. 16, Roger Kornberg, PhD, professor of structural biology and the 2006 Nobel laureate in chemistry, speaks with high school students in Sweden in a digital video conference. The discussion is one in a series of events culminating with the Dec. 10 award ceremony in Stockholm in which Kornberg; pathology professor Andrew Fire, PhD, Nobel laureate in physiology or medicine, and other winners receive their Nobel Prize medals, diplomas and documents confirming the prize amounts from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The days before the ceremony feature a whirlwind of parties and lectures in Stockholm.
