Honors & Awards
ANTONY JAMESON, the Thomas V. Jones Professor in the School of Engineering, has won the 2006 Sperry Award, conferred jointly by six national engineering associations. The award recognizes distinguished engineering contributions that have advanced the state of the art of transportation whether by land, sea or air. A professor of aeronautics and astronautics, Jameson, renowned for developing equations describing the flow of air around wings, noses and engines, was lauded for achievements in computational fluid dynamics. He will receive the award in January 2007 in Reno, Nev., at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
