Actor-author Anna Deavere Smith plays 22 roles in latest performance

Anna Deavere Smith portrays supermodel Veronica Webb, talking about how she developed a "look." Smith performed at Stanford Oct. 25-26 in "Let Me Down Easy," a one-woman show about the frailty and resilience of the body. Subjects for the other monologues, all based on interviews she conducted, were the late Gov. Ann Richards of Texas, the painter Brice Marden and medical school Dean Philip Pizzo, MD. The medical school's Office of Diversity and Leadership was a co-sponsor of the event.
