Artist Steven Siegel, working with students, has created a public artwork from electronic waste gathered on campus. The sculpture is on the front lawn of the Cumming Arts Building. “The piece is intended to reflect the digital waste generated by the Stanford community in a playful and aesthetically pleasing way,” according to a project description on the website of the Department of Art and Art History. “Siegel often utilizes recycled materials and creates great accumulations through elaborate stacking and layering that often results in monolithic forms resembling large boulders or geological formations.” For more information, visit http://art.stanford.edu.
