Slab river
Testing the domino theory by Math Corner? The latest installation by Andy Goldsworthy? Not quite. The removal of the top stones of the balustrade in front of the Main Quad began on May 1 to allow stone-carving artist Oleg Lobykin and his crew to replace or restore the aging balusters underneath and apply new mortar. Restoration of the full length of the balustrade—originally built before 1906—is slated to continue into early October.
