Medical Center People

Amin Al-Ahmad, MD, has been appointed assistant professor of medicine (cardiovascular) as of Feb. 1. He works on device development and clinical studies of arrhythmias. He is associate director of the arrhythmia service and cardiac electrophysiology lab.

Martin Angst, MD, has been promoted to associate professor of anesthesia, as of Feb. 1. He directs the human experimental pain research laboratory, where he tests medications and interventions for their pain-relief properties.

Waldo Concepcion, MD, has been appointed associate professor of surgery, as of Feb. 1. He directs the kidney transplant program at Packard Children's Hospital.

Albert J. Wong, MD, has been appointed professor of neurosurgery, as of Dec. 1. His work involves identifying molecular alterations underlying brain tumors and designing diagnostics and therapeutics for them. He directs the brain tumor research lab.
