Alzheimer's patients needed for study
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is looking for patients with memory problems—particularly dementia and/or Alzheimer's disease—for a research study on the effectiveness of light treatment for improving daytime alertness and nighttime sleep.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be living at home with a caregiver and be at least 55 years old. Both care recipients and their caregivers will participate in the light treatment.
Volunteers will receive a free in-home sleep apnea test and may earn a total of $500 upon completion of the entire study to cover transportation expenses and for their time.
