Symposium on digestive diseases
The Digestive Disease Center will hold a symposium, "Autoimmunity in digestive health and disease" at 8:30 a.m. June 23 in the Clark Center auditorium.
"It's exciting because many gastrointestinal, autoimmune diseases, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and celiac disease, haven't been rigorously studied from the immunologic standpoint," said William Robinson, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and the event's coordinator. Talks will cover new imaging techniques, proteomics and GI diseases, such as biliary cirrhosis, celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
Stanford's Digestive Disease Center is one of 17 digestive centers funded by the National Institutes of Health. The event's co-sponsors are the Stanford Institute for Immunology, Transplantation and Infection and the Stanford Center for Clinical Immunology. To attend, RSVP by June 15 to lpjacob@stanford.edu.
