Lured by live broadcasts on KPIX-TV on July 7, scores of San Jose residents turned out to donate blood at the Stanford Blood Center's bloodmobile at the Fairmont Plaza. Blood supplies remain low this summer, and all eligible people are encouraged to donate. The Stanford center must collect 400 units of blood each day to meet the needs of local patients.
