Memorial service planned for Nobel laureate Henry Taube

A memorial service for Nobel laureate Henry Taube will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in the main dining room of the Faculty Club. The service is open to the public. A reception will be held in an adjacent room at 3:30 p.m., and another reception (5 to 6:30 p.m.) will follow the service.

Taube, the Marguerite Blake Wilbur Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus, was a member of the faculty from 1962 until his death on Nov. 16, 2005, at age 89. In 1983, he received the Nobel Prize in chemistry for his insights into how electrons are transferred between molecules during chemical reactions.

During the memorial service, colleagues, family and friends will speak, and music will be performed by several students.
