Bias in faculty hiring

Jo Handelsman, PhD, co-director of the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will summarize research on bias in academic contexts and present strategies to correct them—for both men and women. Handelsman's lecture, "Understanding our biases and assumptions: male and female," begins at 2 p.m., Feb. 23, in Fairchild Auditorium.
