Andrew Patterson, MD, PhD, has been promoted to associate professor of anesthesia, as of April 1. His research interests include adrenergic receptors, congestive heart failure and cardiopulmonary and critical care medicine.

Jeffrey Feinstein, MD, will be promoted to associate professor of pediatrics (cardiology) at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, effective May 1. Feinstein, who is also associate director of the hospital's Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, does research on computer simulation and modeling of cardiovascular physiology with specific attention paid to congenital heart disease and its treatment, including the development and testing of transcatheter therapies. He is also studying the evaluation and treatment of pulmonary hypertension/pulmonary vascular disease.

Lawrence Crapo, MD, PhD, has been promoted to professor of medicine (endocrinology, gerontology and metabolism) at the Santa Clara County Valley Medical Center, as of April 1. His research involves screening for thyroid disease during pregnancy, treatment options for subclinical hypothyroidism and diagnostic tests for adrenal disorders.
