Plan to renovate Old Union brings back memories for alumnus

I was very pleased to hear about the planned renovation of the Old Student Union (Stanford Report, Feb. 23). Some of my earliest memories are of that building when I was 5 and my father was the professor of air science (1955). I can remember hamburgers, malts, haircuts and being around Stanford students. From those days, I dreamt of going to Stanford. I entered my freshman year in 1968, which was about a year too late to enjoy the Old Union as a student (except to register for classes).
