Honors and Awards
ELISABETH PATÉ-CORNELL, the Burt and Deedee McMurtry Professor of Engineering and chair of the Department of Management Science and Engineering, has been named chair of the board of advisers of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. The school emphasizes study and research programs relevant to the Navy, defense and national and international security interest.
DAPHNE KOLLER, associate professor of computer science, has been named a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). Each year the AAAI's selection of fellows recognizes a small group of individuals who have made significant, sustained contributions to the field of artificial intelligence. Koller was honored "for significant contributions to integrating logic and probability, and development of methods for reasoning, learning and decision-making under uncertainty."
