Community volunteers to be recognized at reception
Faculty and staff who have given their time to community service over the last two years are encouraged to submit their names for a campuswide reception recognizing community service that will be held Oct. 7 at the Haas Center for Public Service. The event, the first of its kind, will honor all faculty and staff who have volunteered in the community on their own time. The event is "long overdue," said LaDoris Cordell, vice provost for campus relations, who said she came up with the idea after encountering numerous faculty and staff who make "amazing" contributions to the community as volunteers.
Submission forms, which are available from human resource officers, must be returned by e-mail by July 15 to Anita Black in the Office for Campus Relations at anitab@stanford.edu.
The reception is sponsored by the Office for Campus Relations, the Haas Center for Public Service, the Department of Human Resources and the President's/Provost's Office.
